I managed to finish it in my first attempt after a very grueling battle, and I will 100% admit that the RNG gods took pity on me both in the fight and before (I was going to resign myself to grind for Rab's multiheal, but two Liquid Metal Slimes decided to try to fight and Jade got both of them, which meant that everyone got like 20k+ experience). Remember to use them if you're having a rough time. I don't believe any sidequests are permanently miss-able.Sidequests based on use of pep powers are much easier once you've got a full party and can "bench" pepped-up characters until the time is right. You don't need to do sidequests the first second they appear.It's the best all-party heal ability for a long, long time. When you get Sylvando, it's best to bee-line "Hustle Dance" in his Showmanship tree.That said, most people prefer starting the Hero on the Greatsword path, heading toward Helichopter (powerful group attack) and Cutting Edge (single-enemy attack you'll swap for Unbridled Blade and ultimately Sword Dance).And most players do respec at least a few times during the game. Respec is cheap and can be done at any church/save point. Don't stress about your character builds.While stores will sometimes have worthwhile gear, most of the time you can forge stuff that's as good or better. Forge gear rather than buying it in stores.This is how you will get access to crafting items, recipes, other helpful items. Explore environments carefully and talk to all the NPCs.I don't recommend hard mode because, although the game is too easy on normal, even experienced players seem to find hard mode frustrating past a certain point in the game. You don't need a ton of advice or online resources to learn its systems.
